Letter we created a bat art project.  We played with balloons, bubbles and balls all for letter B!  The children were introduced to the number 3, it is a tricky number to print, please practice at home.

The fireman came to visit us today.  Checkout the pictures on the CCS Facebook page. The children had a blast with Fireman Bob!  We used our math journals for the first time today, completing an activity for the numbers 1 and 2.  This afternoon we completed a few fun letter Ff activities finger painting, fishing for letters, and we played Flashlight Friday.

We continued learning about fire safety today.  Unfortunately the fire truck was unable to come this morning due to the weather.  We are hoping the fire truck will come one day next week.   The fire fighter will still be visiting tomorrow.   We created Letter F frogs and sang the Five Speckled Frog song.  We completed our letter F collage and our orange collage too!

Today we went "fishing" for words that begin with the letters A, F and L.  Your child should be able to discriminate between the initial sounds of these three letters.  We have also been speaking about fire safety this week...the fire truck is coming to CCS tomorrow for the children.  We will be visiting the truck by the big school.

Today we reviewed the letter L and began learning about the letter F.  We painted with Legos and feathers.  We even played with shaving cream to practice writing our letters!

The pictures from our adventure to Mr. Falletti's room are on Facebook.  Please take a peek and see your brave little children holding the animals! Today we spoke about Christopher Columbus...who sailed in 1492.  Ask your children if they remember the song we learned and the name of his three ships.  We created an adorable Columbus ship craft with our handprints.  Next week we will be moving on to the letter F, it is Fire Prevention Week.

We have successfully completed the first full week of school!  The children are all adjusting nicely.  This upcoming week we will be talking about two new shapes, triangles and rectangles. We will continue covering colors, we have covered red and blue and will cover yellow and green this week. Ask your child to sing the color songs they have learned.  We will continue practicing writing our names and working on our fine motor skills. Believe it or not, Friday is the first day of autumn, we will begin discussing the seasons and the changes that will occur.  Please check your child's folder everyday and review what was covered with them.
